What is the GenZ Innovate Hackathon?
A multi-stage hackathon spread across 2 years, where GenZ innovators collaborate, build, and refine real-world problems through guided phases.
Who is eligible to join?
All currently enrolled Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) students from any discipline are welcome.
How do I register?
Register via our online form by 7 June 2026.
How do teams work?
Each team consists of 4 members. You can register as a team (2-4 members) or solo.
If you register alone, fret not! On event day, our icebreaking session will include team-matching activities to help you connect with other participants.

Do I need to have coding or hardware experience?
Not at all! We welcome beginners. Mentors and workships will be available throughout the event to help you get started. Come with a curious mind and a willingness to learn.
What should I bring?

Can I work on an existing project?
Yes, you may use an existing project, provided that the project idea is your own and not a copy from other parties. However, the majority of new development and iteration should take place during the hackathon stages.
